EWA advances to championship game

The undefeated Eddie White Academy football team on Tuesday night earned their way back into the championship game of the 2016 Clayton County Middle School Football Playoffs by beating Morrow Middle 20 to 8 at Tara Stadium in Jonesboro.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Rex Mill Middle squeezed out a 26-24 win over Riverdale Middle to earn the right to meet EWA Wolves in that championship game, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 back at Tara Stadium.

Rex Mill and Eddie White both completed undefeated regular seasons. In the first round of the playoffs, Eddie White beat Point South Middle 14-6 to advance to Tuesday night’s semi-finals. Rex Mill beat North Clayton Middle in that first round 28-6.
